NRG Construction is a family-owned contracting company built around a simple idea: keep the trades that decide a project's outcome on our own payroll. Who We Are

A Family Company That Kept the Tools.

NRG Construction is a family-owned company based in Ventura, California. We work as a general contractor and we hold the trade licenses ourselves — a choice most GCs don't make: our own crews frame, wire, and roof the projects we build, because those are the trades that decide whether a build goes right.

That choice shaped how the company is organized today — three divisions, each holding its own CSLB specialty license, all working as one business. When you hire NRG, the structure, the power, and the roof aren't handed to the lowest sub bid. They're built by people whose name is on the license, with one company accountable for the result.

The Three Divisions

One Company. Three CSLB Licenses.

NRG Construction — General & Framing

CSLB B #1059515

The General Building license behind our GC work — custom homes, major remodels, additions, and ADUs — and the division that self-performs structural framing, rough carpentry, and finish carpentry with our own crews.

American NRG Electric

CSLB C-10 #1052468

Our electrical division handles residential and commercial work — new construction, remodels, panel upgrades, and tenant improvements — whether we're the GC on the project or working directly for an owner or another contractor.

NRG Roofing

CSLB C-39 #1156853

Our roofing division runs under its own C-39 license with its own dedicated site — replacement, repair, and flat-roof systems. For roofing scope, visit nrg-roofing.com.

Why does the division structure matter? Because each trade runs under the specialty license California requires of a dedicated contractor — not under a single B license stretched to cover everything — while you still deal with one company, one contract, and one point of accountability.

How We Price

Measured Takeoffs. Firm Written Proposals.

01

Measure the Plans

Every bid starts with a quantity takeoff of the actual drawings — walls, footings, circuits, squares — counted and measured, not guessed from square footage.

02

Price the Real Scope

Unit costs go against measured quantities, and the proposal spells out inclusions, exclusions, and allowances in writing — so you know exactly what the number covers.

03

Stand Behind the Number

You get a firm written proposal, not an estimate that drifts. If the scope changes, the change gets priced and approved in writing before the work proceeds.
